We make sure that the surface we are going to apply the liquid wallpaper, is clean, rough, hard, without moisture and corrosion. Remove metal objects such as nails, screws and reinsert them once the surface has dried completely because oxidation can occur at the specific points.
If the surface is clean and adherent, we can apply it directly.
If our surface is clean but not adherent, first cover with a quartz primer, with a roller or brush to prevent our material from sliding off during application.
If the surface has stains, stucco, nicotine, mold, rust, soot, etc., first clean the surface with a wet cloth or sponge and then cover the surface with a soluble primer to seal the stains. There is a great risk if we don`t for our material to affect its appearance. (If stains are too intense… for sure results we apply a second layer of soluble primer).
Also in old-age houses, and surfaces that has been used stucco and painted, the soluble primer is recommended. Surfaces may look clean ... but they are usually painted with simple water-based paints that do not insulate stains and are likely to affect the appearance of our material.
On plasterboard, after covering with a soluble primer.
On unpainted wood, after covering with a soluble primer.
On clean Styrofoam directly.
On Stainless metal and plastic surfaces, after covering with a quartz primer.
We can also apply it directly to the plaster if it has no stains.
We need only a plastic bucket, water and a plastic or a stainless/inox trowel!
- 1. Add the water gradually and mix it by hand or with a mixer until it becomes dough.
- 2. Water per bag, about 3.5 to 5 liters depending on the coloring.
- 3. Allow our material to stand for about 30 minutes or more, so that a better absorption will be achieved. Then, mix a bit again by hand.
- 4. It is suggested that we use the material we have prepared on the same day.
- 5. If we decide to stop and continue the next day we make sure that we do not leave any side of the wall in the middle, to prevent joining points to be created.
Each bag covers an average of 3 square meters of surface. This depends mainly on the thickness we are going to apply and on the smoothness of the surface (if there are inequalities, cracks, etc.)
Thickness is recommended to be 1-1.5mm to cover the maximum possible surface and for the material to dry faster.
Apply with plastic or stainless rectangular trowel like plaster. We use the trowel with an angle of 10-15%, press and move almost parallel to the surface. We apply with pressure to the corners.
The material should not come into contact with metal objects such as nails, screws, etc. during application.
*Note
The application is not recommended when the room temperature is below 15 degrees Celsius, we prefer days with good temperatures and when we finish the application we leave the window a bit open and a fan or air heater to dry the surface faster.
Imagine it…create it!
Recommended for home, office, shops, café-bar and hotels.
It can be placed in our living room, the bedroom, to a wall or a column, in the fireplace etc...
*Attention: Liquid wallpaper Olympos can be applied only to the interior!
Taking advantage of its insulating properties, we can cover the whole house, even the ceiling!
Also, using paper tape, we create our own designs.
